Manchester United are poised to complete a signing that could have important implications for the future of the club.
Itās set to be a busy summer transfer window for Ruben Amorimās side, with a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha on the verge of completion.
According to Le Parisienās Benjamin Quarez, Enzo Kana-Biyik is set to fly to Manchester on Wednesday to complete his move to United from Le Havre.
The 18-year-old striker will be a free agent in the near future and has turned down the offers of the Ligue 1 side for him to sign a professional deal.
Instead, he will become Man Utdās second summer signing, following Cerro Porteno’s Diego Leon as a young prospect to hook up with the Old Trafford side with a view to breaking into the first team next season.
Quality of Man Utd players āso poorā
Matheus Cunha is set to become Man Utdās first major signing of the summer, with a deal close for the Wolves player.
Personal terms are thought to have already been agreed, with the Red Devils just in need of agreeing payment terms with their Premier League rivals.
United legend Paul Scholes has his doubts over the deal, though.
It just feels like itās such a bad place to go. The quality of play right now is so poor.
– Paul Scholes
āHe looks like heās got the attributes that Ruben Amorim wants,ā he told TNT Sports.
āHe knows that physically, his team are just not strong or quick enough, so Matheus Cunha is obviously athletic, and heās got quality with 15 league goals this season. I just worry for any signing coming to Manchester United at the minute. It just feels like itās such a bad place to go. The quality of play right now is so poor.
āAnd with Cunha, is he a centre-forward or is he a wide player? Thereās no doubt that he has quality and of course, it would be nice to sign him, but I worry about where he fits in.ā
