Rasmus Hojlund posts crude 14-word joke on Instagram after Man United's emphatic Europa League win over Athletic Bilbao

Rasmus Hojlund posted a crude joke on Instagram after Manchester United took a big step towards the Europa League final on Thursday night.

United travelled to Spain to take on Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their semi-final and produced a stunning performance to emerge with a 3-0 victory.

Bruno Fernandes scored twice after Casemiro’s opener as United took full advantage of Athletic being reduced to 10 men after defender Vivian was sent off for denying Hojlund a clear goalscoring opportunity in the first half.

Hojlund was clearly delighted with the win and took to social media afterwards to share a 14-word message with his followers.

‘First time a group of lads from Manchester leave Spain with a clean sheet,’ Hojlund wrote.

It is not the first time that Hojlund has put a bizarre post up on his Instagram in the immediate aftermath of a game.

After Ruben Amorim’s men pulled off a remarkable comeback to beat Lyon in the Europa League quarter-finals, Hojlund posted a photo of himself hugging United’s man of the moment Harry Maguire.

He captioned the picture: ‘When the road to a semi gives you a semi.’

Hojlund has 2.5million followers on Instagram and posts regularly on the platform.

Prior to Thursday night’s crude joke, Hojlund previously shared a photo of himself celebrating his late equaliser against Bournemouth on the weekend as he wrote ‘we wanted the win, but I needed that (goal)’.

It has been a tough campaign for the £73m striker who has scored just four Premier League goals this season.

But he has managed to find the net five times in the Europa League, and proved a handful in United’s win in Bilbao.

The Red Devils are now firmly in the driving seat to reach the final and return to Bilbao on May 21 to face either Tottenham or Bodo/Glimt.
