Arsenal are “working hard” to agree a deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos this summer, according to a bombshell report in France.

The 21-year-old has spent the past 16 months on loan at Strasbourg, Chelsea’s sister club, and his form for the Ligue 1 outfit has attracted significant transfer interest from a plethora of top European clubs.

Chelsea are reportedly planning on including Santos in their first-team squad for next season, as they look to bolster the options available to Enzo Maresca in the middle of the park, although he will face significant competition from the likes of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia.

As a result, Santos has been linked with a shock Stamford Bridge outfit, with the likes of AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich all reportedly keeping tabs on his situation.

Furthermore, French outlet Le10Sport have now claimed that Arsenal are set to “battle” Paris Saint-Germain for his signature this summer.

Andrey Santos wanted by Arsenal and PSG

PSG were interested in signing Santos during his time at Vasco da Gama, and although he opted to join Chelsea instead in January 2023, the Parisians remain eager to bring him to the Parc des Princes.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have now reportedly joined the race to land Santos, despite the fact that Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi will arrive as their first signing of the summer window, as exclusively revealed by FootballTransfers.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been thoroughly impressed by Santos’ form at Strasbourg this campaign and they are reportedly “hard at work” as they attempt to reach an agreement to bring the Brazilian to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
