Manchester City midfielder Maximo Perrone is completing a £25million move to Como.

Perrone joined City from Velez Sarsfield in Argentina two years ago for around £9m, spending last season on loan at Las Palmas.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a run at Serie A this term under Cesc Fabregas, with Como set to finish the campaign in mid table.

The club’s official website recently labelled Perrone a ‘compass’, the ‘Swiss watch’ who keeps ‘Como ticking’ and they had already triggered a one-year extension to his loan deal.

But talks surrounding a permanent switch continued between the two parties and they have struck a deal that will see City almost triple their profit on the central midfielder.

‘As far as I’m concerned, I want to stay here, grow and learn more with Como,’ Perrone said in February.

‘I want to give a hand to my team-mates and I’m happy to stay with Cesc. I have an excellent relationship with him. I hope my future is here with Como.’

Perrone made two substitute appearances, in the Premier League and FA Cup, for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Meanwhile, fellow central midfielder Jacob Wright is also set to finalise a permanent move to Norwich City.

Wright, an academy product, joined the Canaries on loan in January and is expected to go for just over £2m after 15 appearances in the Championship.
