Napoli have reportedly submitted an opening offer worth €43 million for Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez as they intensify their pursuit of the 25-year-old.
Antonio Conte’s side have enjoyed a busy start to the 2025 summer transfer window, following their Serie A triumph in May, and they are eager to add Nunez to their first-team squad after confirming the arrival of Kevin De Bruyne on a Bosman deal.
Multiple clubs across the world have been linked with a move for Nunez in recent weeks, including Arsenal, but Napoli have emerged as strong contenders to win the race for his signature.
In fact, the Serie A giants have already submitted an opening verbal offer worth between €42-43m to Liverpool, according to Football Italia.
Napoli have identified Nunez as their priority centre forward target for this summer, but Liverpool are currently holding out for a fee of €50m as they aim to recoup as much of their €85m outlay as possible.
In addition to Nunez, Napoli are also interested in Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca, while Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is a key target too.

Victor Osimhen to Liverpool?
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in recent days and the Reds could potentially use Nunez as a makeweight for the Nigeria international.
The 26-year-old scored 37 goals in 41 appearances during a loan spell at Galatasaray last season and he is wanted by a host of clubs across world football, including Al-Hilal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Liverpool have identified him as an alternative to fellow targets Alexander Isak and Julian Alvarez, although it remains to be seen if they are able to match his annual wage demands of at least €12 million.
