Manchester United reportedly remain in the race to sign Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, despite intense rumours of a summer move to Al-Hilal.
The Nigeria international has been identified as a key transfer target by Ruben Amorim’s side and they are eager to bring him to Old Trafford as they look to sign a new striker capable of replacing Rasmus Hojlund.
That is according to TBR Football, who state that Osimhen can’t be ruled out as a possible Man Utd signing, despite the fact that Al-Hilal are pushing to finalise a deal for the Napoli striker.
The Saudi Pro League side failed to reach agreement in early June, but they have now submitted a contract proposal worth a potential €160 million across four years, and Osimhen is set to engage in negotiations with Simone Inzaghi’s side once his returns from holiday.
The 26-year-old scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances on loan at Galatasaray last season, and he could become the latest high-profile star to secure a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been touted as potential Premier League suitors for Osimhen, in addition to Man Utd, while Juventus have earmarked him as their dream replacement for Dusan Vlahovic. However, Al-Hilal are currently the frontrunners for his signature.

Man Utd to sign Victor Osimhen?
If Man Utd are to win the race for Osimhen, they will likely need to trigger the €75m release clause included in his Napoli contract, in addition to offering him a bumper salary in excess of €12m-per-year.
Despite the club’s financial restraints, former star Rio Ferdinand believes Osimhen could be destined to secure an Old Trafford switch this summer.
He told his YouTube channel earlier this month: “No.9? They already know who I want. The comments know, the people know who I want, who I would go and get: Osimhen!
“It looks like he’s turned down Al-Hilal… he must be waiting for Man Utd. I don’t know if Man Utd are going to come. That’s the problem.”
