Vinicius Junior still remains a target for Saudi Arabia, who are looking to make the Real Madrid star their latest marquee signing for the Pro League, although any approach will not come without a fight.

Vini Jr was the subject of a big money approach from the Gulf nation in the summer but Real Madrid were unwilling to consider an offer outside of the forward’s €1 billlion buyout.

Instead, Real have made contract talks with Vinicius as one of their biggest priorities of 2025, with the 24-year-old’s current deal having just two years remaining on it.

According to Relevo, Real want to resolve Vinicius’ future before the end of the season to avoid any disruptive speculation going into the summer.

The Spanish giants are aware that Saudi Arabia are ‘crazy’ about Vini and want to make the Brazilian their ‘undisputed star’ of the league, having offered him a five-year contract during the summer worth €1bn.

Real accept that the offer on the table from Saudi Arabia would be ‘irresistible’, however they are counting on Vini’s affection and loyalty for the club to convince him to turn down a move to Saudi, at least at this point in his career.

Real ‘taking it easy’ over Vinicius future

Speculation has continued to dominate Vini and the player is understood to have considered a change of scenery in August before deciding against it.

However, Saudi Arabia have made further contact with Vini’s representatives to inform him they are still waiting for him to join whenever he is ready.

Al-Ahli are believed to be the team most positioned to sign Vini, with the Saudi Pro League looking for a new face with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar all likely to leave in the summer.

Real are said to be ‘taking it easy’ over the speculation, instead hoping the player’s sporting ambition takes precedent during contract negotiations, or instead pointing to Vini’s buyout clause if he did decide to leave.
