Juventus are said to be ‘literally intoxicated’ with Jadon Sancho but they are still yet to agree on terms to sign the unwanted Manchester United star this summer despite a desire from all parties to get a deal done.

Sancho was one of a number of players who had his return to pre-season delayed until later in July in order to resolve his future, with United unwilling to incorporate the winger back into the first team squad following his loan at Chelsea.

That is according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, who claim that Sancho ‘will have to settle’ for a salary of €6.5m annually despite agreeing to a wage cut from €10m to €8m.

There is also the complication of Juventus still considering permanently signing Francisco Conceicao after his loan spell last season but Porto have rejected the offer of €20m, instead wanting closer to €30m for the 22-year-old.

Sancho is still described as ‘the priority’ but Juve have ‘not abandoned’ hope of signing Conceicao and would only purchase both players if they could sell Nico Gonzalez this summer after just one season at the club.

Sancho is in the final year of his contract in Manchester and, while United have an option to extend for a further season to protect his value, they are reluctant to do so due to the 25-year-old’s significant wages.

Both Sancho and United agree that a sale is the best solution this summer, with Chelsea having paid around €5m to avoid permanently signing the forward after an underwhelming campaign at Stamford Bridge.

However, despite interest from a number of European sides, only Juventus appear to have emerged as genuine contenders to sign Sancho and the Englishman – who is keen to move to Turin – should eventually agree a contract with the Italian club.

The sale would be a welcome relief for United by getting Sancho’s wages off the books, with hope that the same resolution can be had with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia, all of whom have also had their return to pre-season delayed until later this month.
