Sergio Aguero may be regretting making a bold prediction ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid after he claimed he would ‘cut off my testicles’ if the Spanish giants won.
Aguero spent 10 years at City between 2011 and 2021, and was backing his former club all the way ahead of kick-off.
During an appearance on the Som I Serem FCB Podcast, he said: ‘Real Madrid cannot beat Man City.
‘If they beat City, I will cut off my testicles!’
The Argentine striker – who also played for Real’s bitter rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid – will have been delighted when Erling Haaland gave City a first-half lead after he fired home following a fine move involving Jack Grealish and Josko Gvardiol.
But Kylian Mbappe brought Madrid level on the hour mark, as his attempted volley from Dani Ceballos’ through ball looped off his shin and beyond Ederson.

Aguero spent 10 years at City and was backing them all the way, but his prediction came back to haunt him
Aguero could breath easily again when City went back in front with just over 10 minutes remaining. Once more, it was Haaland who stepped up to slot home a penalty after Ceballos brought down Phil Foden in the box.
But a nightmare final five minutes turned the tie in Madrid’s favour, much to Aguero’s dismay.
First, Brahim Diaz came off the bench to equalise against his former club with just four minutes remaining, and then Jude Bellingham had the final say on a dramatic night at the Etihad.
Vinicius Jr robbed Rico Lewis of possession after the City defender failed to clear his lines, and the Brazilian winger clipped the ball past Ederson, with Bellingham running through to tap home into the unguarded net.
City now face an uphill task to reach the last-16 of the Champions League as they must overturn a 3-2 deficit at the Bernabeu next week.
And it is unlikely that Aguero will back them quite as heavily after his prediction for the first leg went badly wrong on Tuesday night.
