Erling Haaland splashes out on £350k F1 safety car – as Man City star is spotted in his second new set of wheels just days after signing new deal worth nearly £1M per week

Erling Haaland was spotted in a lime green special edition F1 safety car on his way home from Manchester Airport, following Man City’s 3-1 defeat by Real Madrid in the Champions League earlier this week.

The Man City striker drove his new £350,000 vehicle home upon landing back in Manchester, a day after Pep Guardiola’s side were humiliated on Europe’s biggest stage.

For the second straight year, City bowed out of the Champions League at the hands of Madrid; last year, they suffered an excruciating defeat on penalties in the quarter-final. 

Haaland’s Aston Martin DBX 707 is a special edition F1 safety car, usually found on track in British Racing Green, piloted by Bernd Maylander.

And this is not the first time Haaland has splashed out on a new car since putting pen to paper on a new mindboggling nine-year contract with City last month.

The Norwegian frontman will earn almost £1million per week with the Premier League champions until 2034, and his spending habits have certainly reflected his gargantuan pay rise.

Haaland’s old terms were built series of bonuses on top of his wage that took the total package close to £865,000, and it is believed that his current contract is built on similar principles. 

Earlier this week, the 24-year-old was spotted leaving City’s training session in a Porsche 911 GT3, worth around £200,000. 

The two-time Premier League Golden Boot winner was surrounded by fans as he departed the Etihad Stadium in his metallic orange supercar.

The starting price of the car is a mouth-watering £192,000, making it the second most expensive Porsche on the market behind the 911 S/T.

But these motorised steeds are just a fraction of Haaland’s biggest spend in 2025. 

At the beginning of January, the striker switched the Manchester city centre for a new multi-million pound mansion in footballer hotspot Alderley Edge, two weeks before his new contract was revealed.

Haaland previously rented an apartment in the city, where Jack Grealish was his neighbour, before the England star purchased a £5.6m mansion in 2023.

Haaland was reportedly spotted viewing homes with his long-term partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen, 20, in October 2024.

The couple moved into a multi-million pound mansion in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, last month

Isabel, who is a footballer herself and also works part-time at a fashion store, is believed to have met Haaland during his time in the academy at Bryne.

She recently gave birth, making Haaland a first-time father, and the couple are ready to settle down in light of the milestone.

Their six-bed mansion is an estimated 30 minutes from Manchester city centre, and is in the area renowned for housing Man United and City players over the years.

Since his arrival on the blue half of the city, the relentless Haaland has netted a staggering 117 goals in 133 games.

In his two-and-a-half years at the club, he has won six major trophies at the club including two Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2023.
