The big spenders will be out in force again this summer, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
The Red Devils have signed Matheus Cunha, with Man City also flexing their financial power to sign Tijani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki.
Some big deals happened earlier than usual due to the Club World Cup and the deadline for participation in that tournament is now over, though the window remains open.
Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:
- Will Viktor Gyokeres leave Sporting CP?
- Who will sign Victor Osimhen?
- How much can Barcelona spend?
- Will top players want to join Man Utd?
- Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

Arsenal don’t want to trigger Eze’s release clause
Arsenal want to sign Eberechi Eze, but aren’t looking to trigger his £68 million (€78m) release clause.
This summer, the Gunners have already signed Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga, while they are reportedly on the cusp of adding Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera to their squad.
Eze is a target, too, but Arsenal want to pay for the Crystal Palace midfielder over time rather than an up-front payment. (talkSPORT)

Chelsea star set to stay despite exit rumours
Benoit Badiashile has confirmed that he will remain at Chelsea next season.
The Frenchman was a fringe player at Stamford Bridge in 2024/25 and has been linked with a move away this summer, with former club Monaco said to be interested. But, he has confirmed his immediate future is with the Blues.
“Yes, I’ll still be at Chelsea next season,” he told Foot Mercato following his side’s victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the 2025 Club World Cup final.
“The club, the coach, and all the staff give me a lot of confidence and believe in me. I will do everything to give back to them on the pitch. I love the club, the city, and the supporters.”

Newcastle bid for Hugo Ekitike
Newcastle are looking to beat Premier League rivals to the signing of Hugo Ekitike.
The former PSG striker scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in the Bundesliga last season and is currently one of the hottest properties on the transfer market, with Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool all credited with an interest.
Newcastle have swooped first with a €70 million offer, but it is believed Eintracht Frankfurt want closer to €100m. (Fabrizio Romano)
Sesko agents contact Man Utd and Liverpool
The agents of Benjamin Sesko have contacted Man Utd and Liverpool to see if they have interest in signing the Slovenian striker.
Sesko and RB Leipzig have been locked in talks with Arsenal for months but no deal has been struck yet as the Gunners have apparently switched their attention to Viktor Gyokeres.
The player himself has already turned down a move to the Saudi Pro League, but Liverpool and Man Utd could yet emerge as contenders for his signature. (TBRFootball)
