Manchester United have turned their attention to signing a new centre forward after finalising a deal for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo.

The Red Devils have been locked in negotiations to sign Mbeumo for several weeks and they have now reached a full agreement for the Cameroon international, with the transfer expected to be announced shortly.

Man Utd have also completed the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Matheus Cunha this summer and they are now focused on landing a new striker to complete Amorim’s new-look forward line.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee scored a measly seven Premier League goals between them last season, and the Red Devils are determined to bring a reliable goalscorer to Old Trafford ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Top target Liam Delap has joined Chelsea, however, while Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are on the verge of joining Arsenal and Galatasaray, respectively.

As a result, Man Utd have been forced to identify alternative options and they have settled on a three-man transfer shortlist, according to Ben Jacobs.

Man Utd’s striker shortlist

Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson has emerged as a top target, as exclusively revealed by FootballTransfers back in May, while RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins are also on Man Utd’s radar.

All three players are being monitored by Amorim’s side, with Man Utd now prioritising the addition of a new centre forward after wrapping up a deal for Mbeumo.

The Red Devils are also expected to sign a goalkeeper and a central midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window, with Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens an option for the former position and Atalanta’s Ederson a key target for the latter.
