Everton manager David Moyes has issued a transfer plea to the club’s board as Malick Fofana’s stance on a move to the Liverpool club has been revealed.

The Toffees have already completed major deals to sign Thierno Barry from Villarreal and Carlos Alcaraz from Flamengo this summer in transfers worth a combined €45 million, but Moyes wants more for his side ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.

Lyon winger Malick Fofana is one of the players they have been linked with, but Bayern Munich also want to sign the Belgium star.

Sacha Tavolieri has outlined Everton’s prospects of landing the 20-year-old, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €38.2m.

“Malick Fofana’s has other plans than joining Everton Football Club. As told yesterday, the Belgian Red Devil knows some teams playing Champions League that are waiting to make room in the squad are interested in him,” the Sky Sport transfer journalist tweeted.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with the winger in recent weeks.

Aznou bid made as Moyes targets six more signings

With a deal for Fofana looking tricky, Moyes has admitted that Everton have launched a bid for Bayern Munich youngster Adam Aznou.

Although the former Barcelona youth defender has made only four appearances for the Bundesliga champions, he has already been capped by Morocco.

“We made an offer,” Moyes said after a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth. “Whether it’s accepted and whether it’s all done… but he’s a young player. It’s someone we see as having a good future and good potential.”

We’re trying really hard behind the scenes to get things done. We’re going to need it.

The Scotsman has issued a plea for the Everton board to bring in another half dozen players – and the experienced manager admits he is moving into uncharted territory.

“Well, we’ve signed three, so if you take that off, we’re still in the need of maybe five or six players,” Moyes said. “That’s what we have to try and do.

“It’s one of those times, I’ve never had one of these. In the past I have had to sign a lot of players, but I’ve never had to do so many in one window.

“We’re trying really hard behind the scenes to get things done. We’re going to need it.”
