Jakub Kiwior could reportedly push to leave Arsenal this summer following the club’s decision to sign Cristhian Mosquera.
The Poland international only started 10 Premier League matches last season and an exit is on the cards amid interest from a host of clubs across Europe.
As a result, Kiwior’s future at the Emirates Stadium is currently uncertain, according to Fabrizio Romano.
“Understand Jakub Kiwior’s future remains open with several clubs keen on signing the centre back,” the transfer expert posted on X.
“[Mikel] Arteta would prefer to keep Kiwior, Arsenal already rejected a proposal from Portugal in July. Up to the player with desire to play more as possible factor.”
Kiwior impressed during the latter stages of last season, following Gabriel’s hamstring injury, and Arteta described his form as “exceptional” ahead of the Gunners’ Champions League semi-final second-leg tie against Paris Saint-Germain in May.
However, the north London side’s decision to sign Mosquera, in addition to their recent pursuit of Stade Rennais star Jeremy Jacquet, suggests that Kiwior could be deemed surplus to requirements.
Arsenal’s transfer plans
In addition to Kiwior, Arsenal may also sell Leandro Trossard before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Belgium international has been a reliable performer since his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion, but FootballTransfers understands that both Brentford and Crystal Palace are monitoring his situation at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are eager to retain the 30-year-old, however a departure could be on the cards if Arteta’s side are able to reach an agreement to sign Eberechi Eze.
We have been informed that Arsenal are prepared to offer an overall package worth €60 million for the England international, and talks are expected to continue next week.
