Newcastle could reportedly be set to miss out on another one of their transfer targets this summer.
Despite securing Champions League football Eddie Howe’s side have endured a decidedly disappointing window thus far.
The club’s all-time record signing Alexander Isak’s future remains in the air with the wantaway striker attempting to force through a move to Premier League champions Liverpool.
Meanwhile Benjamin Sesko looks set to join Manchester United following a protracted saga despite Newcastle’s best efforts to bring the RB Leipzig man to St James’ Park.
After Sesko named Old Trafford as his preferred destination Newcastle have wasted little time in identifying alternative targets to strengthen their options going forward for the coming campaign.
One of those players said to feature on Eddie Howe’s shortlist is Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.
Newcastle could reportedly miss out on another transfer target following their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko

Magpies are said to be weighing up a move for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa this summer

But Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are reportedly prepared to meet the 28-year-old’s asking price
Wissa netted 19 Premier League goals for the Bees last season and has also attracted interest from the likes of Tottenham and Nottingham Forest.
However, after losing long-time manager Thomas Frank this summer and with Bryan Mbeumo, Christian Norgaard and Mark Flekken all leaving the club Brentford are said to be determined to hold on to the 28-year-old.
According to a report from L’Equipe, while Newcastle are said to have been put off by Brentford’s asking price for Wissa, Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr are ready to meet their demands.
Former Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran departed Al-Nassr on loan this summer just months after completing a lucrative switch to the gulf state club.
As such, Jorge Jesus’ side are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements to partner the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane in the star-studded team.
After initially being linked with a move away from the club after again failing to secure a league title win in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo ultimately signed a bumper new two-year deal with Al-Nassr in June.
The new terms, which will take him past his 42nd birthday, reportedly include an eye-watering basic salary of £488,000-a-day.
