Sunderland have agreed a deal for a former West Ham defender to continue their significant summer spending.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Arthur Masuaku is set to sign a two-year deal with the Black Cats following a successful medical.
The left-back, 31, was a free agent following his departure from Besiktas at the end of last season.
Masuaku was at West Ham between 2016 and 2023, during which time he made 128 appearances.
Further signings are expected for Sunderland, who are looking to make a big impact upon their return to the Premier League.
Former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been one of the key arrivals from the Stadium of Light as he joined from Bayer Leverkusen.

Masuaku, 31, is set for a return to English football following a spell with Besiktas
Midfielders Enzo Le Fee and Habib Diarra joined from Roma and Strasbourg respectively.
In addition, winger Simon Adingra arrived from Brighton and goalkeeper Robin Roefs signed from NEC.
Other players to have joined Sunderland include Noah Sadiki, Reinildo Mandava and Chemsdine Talbi.
Forward Marc Guiu has also joined on loan from Chelsea.
Regis Le Bris’ team get their Premier League season underway with a home game against West Ham on August 16.
