Manchester City find winger Savinho the subject of intense transfer interest from Tottenham Hotspur, and Pep Guardiola’s side have rapidly built a €100 million plan to cope with his possible departure.
Fabrizio Romano revealed on Sunday that Tottenham are pushing hard to sign the Brazil international in the wake of a serious injury to James Maddison.
A move that could be worth €70m promises to have significant ramifications at the Etihad Stadium, where Savinho is ready to join Jack Grealish in departing the club, potentially leaving City short of creative attackers.
“This deal is really concrete. They started talks. Spurs are advancing on a deal. The player is open to the move. Keep an eye on this one,” Romano explained on YouTube.
The football transfer insider also revealed that Savinho’s move could force Pep Guardiola’s side back into the market, and according to Fichajes, the Premier League giants have already planned for this eventuality.
Rodrygo a target for City
Real Madrid winger Rodrygo is wanted by Man City, who have outlined a bid worth €100m for the Brazil international.
Guardiola’s side are ready to pay an initial €80m for the attacker with €20m included as bonuses.
Talks with Madrid have not started but Rodrygo’s future at the Bernabeu has been in some doubt for some weeks. Liverpool and Arsenal have both been linked with the 24-year-old, and even as the transfer market enters its final stages, both are still seen as viable destinations for the player.
The Brazilian struggled for game time at the Club World Cup under new head coach Xabi Alonso, and the emergence of young striker Gonzalo Garcia promises to give him even fewer opportunities to shine.
If Rodrygo is out for favour in the Spanish capital, City see him as a dream replacement for Savinho and Grealish.
“The English club believes he fits the profile they need perfectly: a fast, skilful player with the ability to make the difference in one-on-one situations,” the Spanish source reports.
“Rodrygo’s possible arrival at Manchester City is seen as a high-impact strategic move.”
Real Madrid still have to hold talks with Rodrygo, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €98m, to determine his future, but it’s clear that Man City is one option.
