Riding a five fight win-streak into UFC 189 back in 2015, former double champ Conor McGregor cemented his name in the history books for the first time, defeating Chad Mendes in the main event via second-round knockout to claim the interim featherweight title.

How’s the ankle? Got us all worrying
CHAMP CHAMP FOREVER
My idol. The reason I fell in love with this sport. Crisp punches and foot work earning 3 300k.
No Conor no party!
We're here to take over
Before he became the tape machine trash
His confidence helped him so much. Sad to see him take the jon jones road to cocaine and steroids. He will never be the same
Великий Конор💪
He's lucky Chad took it on a 2 week notice, there would've not been a McGregor
If Chad had a full training camp for this fight, instead of the few weeks notice he got, I think he would’ve won.
That style was beautiful man. The shots just flow he made it look effortless
This was peak conor
Fun Fact: He became Double Champ and never defended the belts once… 😂
Darn, it was my first PPV event that I had watched live
Yeahh Conor is Legendary
Always fight the midgets
He changed the UFC forever! 🙏
The midget mangler
chad lesnar beats him now
“What happens when he faces a wrestler”
Conner: proceeds to get up and defend a takedown and pieced him off
McGregor ate him up took him in a McGoat🐐 burger with pride
ONLY AND ALWAYS
The Connor that beat Alverez was the Connor that schools Khabib….as good as Khabib clearly is, he beat a shadow of this Connor, he beat a complete husk of this Connor….in his prime, hungry, fluent, devastating, he was unstoppable in many respects. Yes Diaz chocked him out, but that was Connor going UP a division, outside of his comfort zone, yet remarkably, pulling off the rematch victory in an amazing fight. Prime Connor was a force of Nature, ruined by money, and the good life.
That's what I'm going to do when you say that to my face. Not at me, around me, near me, none of that. Say my name, then say what you want to say. 😊
Good fight. Chad was doing well, Connor was fooling at first and Chad came more serious. Nice counter balance at the end.
Great fight
If I remember correctly this really was the first time Connor got hit a shit ton of times, and could of easily maybe lost the fight if it went all 5 rounds or he could of possibly been finished. It was the first time I remember someone actually gave him a fight and he took a ton of damage in just 2 rounds
He only brought casuals
Conner is plenty tough but a punk at heart.
This is 2023 game fight or not?
Daddy gregor
Conor McGregor 🎉
naisss
I thought conor was lifting weights getting huge
? How old is this ?
All time my fvrt fighter reason is 19 knockout in 22 match…
