Brennan Johnson found the back of the net twice in the first-half to seal all three points for Ange Postecoglou, who has come under scrutiny amid their poor form.
The Wales international opened the scoring with a well-taken strike in the 13th minute before doubling his tally for the afternoon in the 42nd minute.
