Oct. 18—Paris placed sixth in the Danville Sectional for girls high school tennis, a rain-delayed tournament that didn’t end until Tuesday.
Doubles teams of Emerson Barrett-Graci Watson and Myah Bartos-Bella Moreschi each won their first match but lost the matches that determined state qualifiers.
Shelby Fry and Ava Barrett both lost their opening singles matches.
* Maroons move on — At Olney, Ill., Robinson won its sectional competition and will send five girls to the state finals that begin Thursday.
Annie List of the Maroons placed second in singles, while Anna Hargrave-Hannah Hevron placed second and Grace Gower-Sydney Harmon fourth in doubles.
