Mikel Arteta has played down fears that Bukayo Saka picked up an injury during Arsenal’s 4-0 victory against Ipswich at Portman Road.
Saka was withdrawn on 57 minutes after Leif Davis’ rash challenge caught him on his Achilles in the first half – resulting in the full back being shown a red card.
The forward looked to play on but was taken off by Arteta as a precaution shortly after the restart and had ice applied to his ankle while sitting on the bench.
He was later spotted hobbling toward the team bus when leaving the ground.
But Arteta has allayed concerns that Saka was set for another spell on the sidelines.
‘I didn’t see the tackle. It was quite far from the bench,’ he told Sky Sports.

‘After watching it, I think it’s a good decision from the referee. Thankfully, he’s in a bit of pain but it doesn’t look too serious.’
Arteta’s update will come as a boost for Arsenal ahead of their Champions League semi-final first-leg showdown against Paris Saint-Germain a week on Tuesday.
