The veteran performed the feat at Perth Stadium during Australia’s first T20I match against England.

Finch now joins the list of hitters with more than 3000 T20I runs, along with Rohit Sharma, Martin Guptill, Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, and Paul Stirling. During Australia’s recent three-match T20I series against Rohit’s Men in Blue, Finch also made history by becoming the first captain to score 2000 runs in T20Is.

Finch, on the other hand, had a bad day in Perth. Finch entered the fray at No. 4 as the Aussies were instructed to chase down 209 runs. Finch had to maintain the momentum with Australia’s total at 86 for the loss of two wickets in 8.3 overs.

He launched his innings with a huge six, but his good fortune ran out quickly. Jos Buttler eventually ran the 35-year-old out at the striker’s end. Sam Curran’s superb throw from deep nabbed Finch short of the crease as he attempted to take two runs. Buttler only needed to remove the bails.
