ARSENAL have contacted West Ham to make an official enquiry about Jarrod Bowen, according to reports.
The Gunners are looking to sign a new winger before the transfer window slams shut next month.
Former Leeds star Raphinha was originally at the top of the club’s transfer wishlist, but the Brazil international chose to reject both Arsenal and Chelsea in favour of a £55million move to Barcelona.
As a result, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu have began to consider alternative options.
According to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, the Gunners are considering a swoop for West Ham winger Bowen.
When speaking to Give Me Sport, Jacobs said: “With Bowen, West Ham’s stance remains that they really don’t want to sell.
“So there’s a lot of clubs circling over Bowen, but the challenge, much like Declan Rice, is persuading West Ham to sell during this window and West Ham remain pretty intent not to let him go.
“So, there’s lots of excitement about Bowen moving potentially to a club like Arsenal, but it’s all hypothetical at the moment, because West Ham don’t want to sell.
“Arsenal have definitely made an enquiry around Bowen to see what the situation is, but that’s what they’ve been told.”
Bowen joined West Ham from Hull in January 2020 for a fee of £25m.

He has since become one of the club’s most valuable assets having scored 17 goals in 50 appearances last season.
West Ham are reportedly demanding at least £75m for the England international.
But, Arsenal could be reluctant to spend that much money having already splashed the cash on signing Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer.
The Gunners have also been considering a move for Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans, who is expected to cost around £30m.
They are set to make an offer in the coming weeks, with personal terms claimed to have already been agreed.
