Stade Rennais defender Jeremy Jacquet reportedly views Arsenal as the “ideal platform to showcase his talent” amid significant interest from the Gunners.

Jacquet, 20, enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last year and he has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent days, with Mikel Arteta’s side initiating contact over a potential summer move.

However, TEAMtalk contrastingly claim that he is eager to move to Arsenal instead.

The France U21 international is reportedly “enthusiastic” about the opportunity to join the north London giants and he sees a possible transfer to an elite Premier League club as an extremely attractive proposition.

Rennes are reluctant to part ways with the defender, however, and the French outfit are demanding a fee of at least €28.8 million (£25m) to sanction a sale.

Arsenal to sign Jeremy Jacquet?

Arsenal have already signed Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera so far this summer, but they remain interested in bringing Jacquet to the club amid concerns over the future of Jakub Kiwior.

The Frenchman spent the first-half of last season on loan at Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot, but he was recalled by Rennes in January and he enjoyed a fantastic end to the campaign with his boyhood club.

Arsenal have already spent €224.2m on six new signings so far this summer and they have been tipped to pursue a deal for Jacquet in 2026 if they are unable to reach an agreement to acquire his signature before the end of Transfer Deadline Day on 1 September.
