Exclusive: Barcelona, Man City interested in Dowman

FootballTransfers understands that Barcelona and Man City are interested in Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman. The 15-year-old is regarded as the biggest talent in the Gunners’ academy.
Dowman has already trained with the first team on several occasions, and Arsenal are intent on keeping him and eventually integrating him into their senior setup full-time.
Arsenal have no intention of entertaining the thought of letting Dowman slip through their grasp.

Zubmendi fuels Real Madrid rumours

Top Arsenal midfield target Martin Zubimendi has reignited rumours of a potential transfer to Real Madrid, despite having an agreement to join the Gunners this summer.
Real Madrid have frequently been associated with a potential hijack of Arsenal’s deal, and the Real Sociedad star has now revealed that he idolises new Los Blancos boss Xabi Alonso.
“I’ve always said he’s been my idol,” Zubimendi said. “I was lucky enough to have him coach me in the reserve team during a very important year, and then I made it into the first team.
“I don’t like to talk about hypotheticals; I like to talk about reality. It would be disrespectful to answer [transfer questions] while I’m with the Spanish national team in such an important competition.”
Zubimendi also confirmed that he posted pictures of himself on a beach in Spain on social media to dispel suggestions that he was having a medical in London. “I wanted to upload those photos to emphasise that it wasn’t exactly the reality of what was happening,” he revealed.

Sterling wasted a year at Arsenal

Arsenal have decided to send Raheem Sterling back to Chelsea after his unsuccessful season-long loan at the Emirates. The Gunners did not have a purchase option, and it’s unlikely that they will try to negotiate a deal this summer.
Sterling’s move to North London was hugely detrimental to himself and Chelsea. His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) plummeted by more than €35m over the course of the season.
Chelsea are now stuck with a player who commands a massive wage and has seen his stock diminish drastically. The England international has no future at Stamford Bridge.
