Exclusive: Arsenal accelerate Hato pursuit

FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are stepping up their pursuit of Ajax defender Jorrel Hato, with a meeting set to take place on Tuesday for talks over a potential move to the Emirates.
Ajax are holding out for a €50 million transfer fee, while Arsenal want to be quick to avoid a potential bidding war. Hato has no shortage of suitors as Chelsea, Dortmund and Liverpool are also keen on the Dutchman.

Timber announces ‘busy’ summer

Meanwhile, Hato’s Netherlands teammate Jurrien Timber has revealed that he expects Arsenal to be ‘busy’ this summer, with several fresh faces set to join the Gunners.
“It will definitely be a busy one for Arsenal,” the full-back said. “I think we will get a lot of players, because we had so many injuries last season. At one point, we almost had no players left. So for the depth of the team, they definitely want to get players.”
Arsenal are expected to announce the arrival of Martin Zubimendi imminently, with a new striker, winger, another midfielder and at least one defender also targeted.

Arsenal ready new Gyokeres offer

Portuguese media claims that Arsenal are ‘preparing’ a second offer for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, who remains in limbo due to the ongoing dispute with his club.
Gyokeres’ camp continues to insist that Sporting assured him that he would be allowed to leave for €70m this summer, while the Lisbon outfit claims that a specific asking price was never set.
As a result, Sporting have informed Gyokeres’ suitors that they will have to pay more than €70m to land the Sweden international, who is nevertheless expected to be on the move this summer.

Another Sesko roadblock?

Arsenal’s talks with RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko have slowed down in recent days. Despite a general openness to make the move, Arsenal have been unable to finalise personal terms with the Slovenian.
The Transfers Podcast revealed last week that Sesko is asking for a release clause in his Arsenal contract, which has caused a delay and some consternation at the Emirates.
Now, it is being claimed that Sesko is also demanding an excessive wage, which the Gunners are unwilling to grant him.
