ARSENAL will reportedly turn their attention to Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin if they miss out on Manchester City ace Gabriel Jesus.

Fabrizio Romano claims the Gunners are lining up a new striker this summer.

And City slicker Jesus is at the top of Mikel Arteta’s list.

But the Spaniard is also prepared to go in for Calvert-Lewin should Pep Guardiola block Jesus’ exit.

Arsenal are set to be without a recognised No9 at the end of the season, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both out of contract.

Etihad ace Jesus has just one year left on his City deal.

And Arsenal have already held talks with his representatives over a tasty transfer.

However, Jesus’ recent form could now see him in line for a new contract with the champions.

That would mean Arsenal turning their focus to a new target.

And Romano reckons Calvert-Lewin has already been earmarked as his next preferred signing.

Romano told the Wondergoal Podcast: “Calvert-Lewin has always been a player in the list of Arsenal.

“But now we know that Jesus is the priority. So let’s see how this Jesus negotiation will go.

“For Dominic, he could still be an option for Arsenal, in case it won’t go through with Jesus.

“Jesus is leaving the club, I’m pretty sure that it will happen.

“The conversations have already started with many clubs, with his agent, Arsenal in particular.

“They had direct talks with his agent. They explained the project and the player is pretty happy with the project from Arsenal.

“Also in his case, Champions League football will be really important. Jesus is tempted by this Arsenal move.

“There are six clubs interested in the race to sign him. He is not going to extend his City contract. It expires soon, I see him leaving.”
