Having sewn up the transfer of Martin Zubimendi, FootballLondon reports that Arsenal plan to make Viktor Gyokeres and Nico Williams their second and third signings of the summer.

FootballTransfers’ Steve Kay was the first to report that Zubimendi will become Arsenal’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

FootballTransfers understands that Mikel Arteta’s side have agreed personal terms with Zubimendi and the deal is expected to be announced at the start of June, barring any late complications.

Arsenal’s second and third signings

FootballLondon adds that Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta’s next plan of action is to bring in Gyokeres and Williams.

Arsenal are leading the race for the prolific Swede ahead of major competition such as Man Utd, Chelsea and Barcelona.

Gyokeres is understood to favour a move to the Emirates, with multiple reports circulating that he has already agreed personal terms with the club.

Having scored 52 goals this season, Arsenal have no doubts over his qualities and are hopeful of completing a deal for less than his €100m release clause.

And after Gyokeres, Arsenal will advance in talks with Williams.

FootballLondon confirms that Arsenal have a long-standing interest in the Athletic Bilbao winger, with Berta also a big fan.

FootballTransfers recently confirmed that the Gunners were in talks with Williams’ representatives and had been put into pole position for the deal by their new sporting director Andrea Berta.

Arsenal would be happy to trigger Williams’ €58m release clause in his Athletic contract if they table a bid but his high wage demands have made negotiations over personal terms tricky.

Barcelona also wish to sign Williams but their financial situation makes a deal difficult.
