Aston Villa beat Newcastle 4-1 on Saturday evening in a boost to their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Things began in perfect fashion for the hosts as Ollie Watkins gave them a lead within 33 seconds, but Fabian Schar levelled.

Villa came out firing after the break and Ian Maatsen put them 2-1 up, before Dan Burn scored an own goal.

Amadou Onana capped the victory with a stunning finish at Unai Emery’s side rose to sixth in the Premier League.
