Barcelona have transfer listed up to eight players this summer as director of football Deco plans to improve an already formidable squad.

The Blaugrana have been one of the revelations of the 2024-25 season in La Liga and Europe.

They are about to complete a domestic treble as having already won the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup, they are seven points clear at the top of La Liga with three games left.

Barca also went close in the Champions League as they were only eliminated 7-6 on aggregate in the semi final by Inter Milan in one of the most epic ties in the competition’s history.

Barcelona players for sale

Despite Barcelona’s brilliant and goal-filled season, Deco is planning to ruthlessly overhaul a good chunk of the squad.

Sport reports that he has put eight players up for sale.

The villain of that Inter semi-final, Ronald Araujo, will be sold after his costly mistakes eliminated Barcelona in the Champions League for a second year running.

Teenage right back Hector Fort is available as Deco believes he can be upgraded.

Third choice goalkeeper Inaki Pena will be sold regardless of whether Wojciech Szczesny signs a contract renewal as Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s understudy.

Outside attackers Pau Victor and Ansu Fati will be moved on, and the players realise they have no future at the club.

Another youngster, Pablo Torre, is also for sale.

Deco will also surprisingly consider offers for Fermin Lopez and Gavi, but he will only sell one of these two players and not both.

Finally, while not currently transfer listed, Frenkie de Jong will be put on the market if he cannot agree a contract renewal this summer.

A priority for Barca is to get De Jong and Raphinha to extend their contracts.

After chopping the squad down, Deco then plans to get to work and bring in stronger players to replace the outgoings.
