Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League player of the month for March.
It is the fifth time that Fernandes has won the award but his first in five years.
All of Fernandes’ previous accolades came in 2020 – the year in which he joined United – as he triumphed in February, June, November and December.
Last month Fernandes had four goal involvements as United were unbeaten in the Premier League.
The Portuguese star scored a free-kick in a 1-1 draw Arsenal and was also on the scoresheet against Leicester – a game in which he provided two assists.
In winning the prize for the fifth time, Fernandes has matched the achievements of two former United stars.

Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie both won the player of the month award five times each, with three of the latter’s successes coming when he was at Arsenal.
Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah lead the way with seven player of the month awards each.
Steven Gerrard and Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, both won the prize on six occasions.
In winning the award for March, Fernandes saw off competition from Arsenal’s Declan Rice.
Nottingham Forest pair Anthony Elanga and Nikola Milenkovic were also nominated along with Jean-Ricner Bellegarde of Wolves and Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke.
Meanwhile, Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has won the Premier League manager of the month award for the third time this season.
Nuno previously won the award in October and December 2024, while he has now claimed the accolade on seven occasions in total.
For his latest award Nuno was selected ahead of United boss Ruben Amorim and Brighton’s Fabian Hurzeler.

Forest managed to secure wins against Manchester City and Ipswich in March
In March, Forest beat Manchester City 1-0 before winning 4-2 against Ipswich.
Nuno’s side are currently in third place in the Premier League as they look to qualify for the Champions League.
They haven’t finished that high since the 1994-95 season, when Frank Clark led them to the highest-ever placing a newly promoted side has achieved.
Even if Forest tail off, it looks as if finishing fifth will be enough to earn a Champions League spot.
