Twitter reactions: Virat Kohli’s masterful 51st ODI century powers India to a dominant win over Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025

Virat Kohli once again displayed his unmatched class under pressure, steering India to a commanding victory over Pakistan in their highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. The modern-day batting maestro brought up his 51st ODI century in spectacular fashion, ensuring India successfully chased down Pakistan’s 241-run target with a composed and well-paced knock.

With this comprehensive win, India solidified their position at the top of Group A, while Pakistan now finds themselves in a precarious situation. A second consecutive defeat means that their semifinal hopes are hanging by a thread. Rizwan and his men must now rely on Bangladesh to defeat New Zealand on Monday, before defeating Bangladesh themselves in their final group-stage match. Even then, Pakistan’s qualification hopes will rest on net run rate calculations, making this loss even more crushing.

Virat Kohli’s Century:  A masterclass in chasing under pressure

Batting with immense composure and determination, Kohli crafted a sensational unbeaten 100 off 111 deliveries, anchoring India’s chase to perfection. His innings was a perfect blend of flawless shot selection, impeccable timing, and tactical acceleration, ensuring Pakistan never had a chance to claw their way back into the contest.

The most poetic moment of the match arrived on the very last ball, when Kohli reached his century with a stunning boundary, sealing India’s victory in dramatic style. His innings featured seven elegant boundaries, each a testament to his precise footwork and unwavering focus.

Kohli was ably supported by Shreyas Iyer, who registered a crucial 50 off 63 balls. Iyer started cautiously, absorbing pressure early on, before shifting gears in the middle overs to keep India’s chase on track. The duo’s partnership was instrumental in guiding India to the finish line, ensuring there were no last-minute hiccups.

Fastest to 14,000 ODI runs: Kohli creates yet another record

During his sensational knock, Kohli achieved yet another historic milestone, becoming the fastest batter to score 14,000 ODI runs. He accomplished this feat in just 287 innings, shattering the previous record held by Sachin Tendulkar (350 innings).

Kohli also surpassed Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara (378 innings), reaffirming his status as one of the most dominant run-scorers in the history of ODI cricket.

The historic moment arrived when Kohli reached 15 runs during India’s chase, marking another chapter in his illustrious career. Interestingly, Kohli had reached 13,000 ODI runs against Pakistan as well, during the Asia Cup in Colombo in September 2023, making this milestone even more special.

Pakistan’s batting struggles: Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya lead India’s bowling attack

Earlier in the day, Pakistan’s batting faltered yet again, as they were bowled out for 241, despite being in a promising position at one stage. Saud Shakeel top-scored with a resilient 62 off 76 balls, while skipper Mohammad Rizwan labored to 46 off 77 deliveries. The duo stitched together a 104-run partnership for the third wicket, offering Pakistan some stability after early wickets.

However, just when Pakistan looked set to accelerate, India’s bowlers struck back with precision and control. Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav (3/40) was the pick of the bowlers, dismantling Pakistan’s middle and lower order with his deceptive variations. All-rounder Hardik Pandya (2/31) delivered two crucial blows, dismissing both Babar Azam (23) and Shakeel, which shifted the momentum firmly in India’s favor.

Despite Khushdil Shah’s fighting knock of 38 off 39 balls, Pakistan failed to gain any real momentum towards the death overs, ultimately setting a below-par total of 241, which India chased down comfortably. With two wins in two games, India has virtually sealed their place in the semifinals, while Pakistan now stares at an early exit, needing a miracle to stay alive in the tournament.

Champions Trophy 2025 [WATCH]: Abrar Ahmed traps Shubman Gill with a deceptive carrom ball; also gives a bold send-off | IND vs PAK

Pakistan’s mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed produced the ball of the match to dismiss India’s opening batter Shubman Gill in the 18th over of the high-stakes Group A encounter in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. The delivery was so exquisite that even Virat Kohli, standing at the non-striker’s end, was visibly impressed. It was a moment of sheer brilliance from the unorthodox leg-spinner, who completely outfoxed Gill with a beautifully disguised carrom ball-esque delivery that left the Indian opener stunned.

Abrar Ahmed’s masterclass: A dream delivery to Shubman Gill

Bowling from over the wicket, Abrar Ahmed floated the ball up deceptively, giving it enough drift from outside leg stump. Gill, well-set on 46 off 52 balls, anticipated a conventional leg break and shaped up to flick it towards the leg-side. However, the ball did something extraordinary – it spun sharply off the surface, deviating more than Gill expected. Before the Indian batter could react, the ball sneaked past his bat and crashed into the top of the off-stump, completely dismantling his defense.

Gill’s reaction said it all – he was left frozen in disbelief, staring back at his shattered stumps, unable to comprehend how the ball had turned so much. The precision of Abrar’s control, subtle variations, and ability to extract maximum spin made it a dismissal straight out of a coaching manual. It was a delivery that would make any legendary spinner proud.

    A fired-up Abrar gives a fiery send-off

After knocking over Gill, Abrar couldn’t contain his excitement. He celebrated with a fist pump, then pointed towards the pavilion in a confident send-off, signaling that he had done his job. The breakthrough came at a crucial time when India was steadily progressing in their chase of 242 runs. Gill and Kohli had already stitched a 69-run partnership, keeping Pakistan under pressure, but Abrar’s moment of magic turned the tide back in Pakistan’s favor.

Shreyas Iyer on 12. Earlier, Pakistan managed 241 in 49.4 overs, with Saud Shakeel top-scoring with 62, while Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav picked up key wickets. Rohit Sharma (20) and Gill (46) provided a solid start before falling to Shaheen Afridi and Abrar, respectively. India now needs 109 runs from 23.4 overs at a required rate of 4.60. Pakistan will rely on their bowlers to create breakthroughs, while India looks poised for a comfortable chase.

IND vs PAK [WATCH]: Shaheen Afridi’s magical yorker sends Rohit Sharma packing in Champions Trophy 2025

Pakistan’s pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi once again proved his class on the big stage as he dismissed Indian skipper Rohit Sharma with an absolute peach of a delivery during the high-voltage ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash. The left-arm seamer, known for his ability to swing the ball prodigiously at high speeds, produced an unplayable inswinging yorker that shattered Rohit’s stumps, leaving Indian supporters stunned.

Shaheen Afridi’s dream delivery: A perfect yorker

The breathtaking moment came on the final ball of the fourth over when Afridi, running in with his trademark aggression, delivered a full, fast, and perfectly executed inswinging yorker. The ball tailed in sharply at express pace, sneaking through the narrow gap between bat and boot, and crashed into the middle stump before Rohit could even bring his bat down in time. The Indian captain, who looked in good touch until then, was left rooted to the crease as his off-stump cartwheeled behind him. Afridi’s celebration was instant and animated, as he let out a triumphant roar, knowing he had removed one of India’s most dangerous batters early in the innings. His teammates rushed towards him in jubilation, while Rohit could only walk back dejectedly, his lean patch with the bat continuing in the crucial tournament.

Another poor outing for Rohit Sharma against left-arm pacers

Rohit’s dismissal for 20 runs once again highlighted his struggles against high-quality left-arm pace. The Indian captain had started fluently, playing a few crisp drives and flicks, but Afridi’s masterful delivery proved too good for him. The wicket not only dented India’s early momentum but also handed Pakistan a breakthrough in their quest to dominate the high-stakes encounter. Afridi’s ability to strike in the powerplay has been a major weapon for Pakistan, and his dismissal of Rohit served as a perfect reminder of why he is one of the most feared new-ball bowlers in world cricket.

The BAN vs NZ clash will be the first match of the ongoing Champions Trophy in Rawalpindi, and the pitch is expected to favour the batters at this venue.

The surface offers good bounce and carry, making stroke play easier. With the ball coming onto the bat smoothly, batters will likely enjoy their time in the middle, potentially setting the stage for a high-scoring contest.

For the bowlers, pacers may find some early movement with the new ball, while spinners are expected to play a crucial role during the middle overs as the pitch starts to wear down. Considering the dew factor, team winning the toss is likely to bowl first.

IND vs PAK [WATCH]: Hardik Pandya gives Babar Azam a cheeky ‘bye-bye’ send-off in Champions Trophy 2025

The much-anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 saw early fireworks as Hardik Pandya dismissed Pakistan opener Babar Azam in the eighth over at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan, having won the toss and opting to bat first, got off to a promising start before Hardik’s crucial breakthrough halted their momentum.

Hardik Pandya gives Pakistan early blow in form of Babar Azam

The defining moment came on the second ball of the 8th over, when Pandya bowled a delivery that was pitched slightly short and outside off. Babar, seemingly looking to play a cover drive, mistimed his shot and got an edge. Wicketkeeper KL Rahul made no mistake, moving swiftly to his right to take a sharp low catch. The Indian all-rounder celebrated the dismissal with a cheeky ‘bye-bye’ send-off, underlining the intensity of the rivalry.

Babar, who had looked in fine touch with a 23-run knock off 26 balls, including five boundaries, was visibly disappointed as he walked back to the pavilion. His departure put Pakistan at 41/1 in 8.2 overs, shifting the pressure onto the middle order.

Following Babar’s dismissal, Pakistan’s innings slowed down as another opener, Imam-ul-Haq, too departed soon. He got run out by a direct-hit at the stumps by Axar Patel.

WATCH: Sara Tendulkar applauds as Yuvraj Singh takes a spectacular boundary-line catch in International Masters League 2025

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh rolled back the years with a sensational catch near the boundary rope during the high-profile clash between India Masters and Sri Lanka Masters in the International Masters League (IML) 2025 at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai . The thrilling encounter, held on Saturday (February 22), saw Yuvraj’s brilliance in the field become a defining moment of the game, as he defied age and expectations with a gravity-defying effort.

A moment of magic in IML 2025: Yuvraj Singh’s sensational catch

The unforgettable moment transpired in the eighth over of Sri Lanka Masters’ innings when veteran Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan was bowling to left-handed batter Lahiru Thirimanne. The former Sri Lankan opener attempted to loft the ball over the long-on boundary in a desperate bid to accelerate the chase, but he failed to generate the desired power and elevation. As the ball soared towards the deep, it seemed destined to fall just short of the rope. However, stationed at long-on, Yuvraj anticipated the trajectory perfectly, sprinted towards the ball, and executed a perfectly timed jump to pluck it out of the air with both hands.

The difficulty of the catch was further amplified by the fact that Yuvraj had to maintain his balance near the boundary cushion, ensuring he didn’t overstep the line after completing the grab. Despite the high-pressure situation, the 43-year-old legend displayed remarkable composure and athleticism, completing the catch with finesse and sending Thirimanne back to the pavilion. The stadium erupted in applause as Yuvraj’s teammates, including Irfan and Stuart Binny, rushed towards him to celebrate the outstanding effort.

    Here’s the video:

An applause from the stands by Sara Tendulkar

The electrifying moment didn’t just leave fans in awe; even notable spectators in the stands, including Sara Tendulkar, the daughter of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, were left thoroughly impressed. Sara, who was seen enjoying the game from the VIP section, immediately applauded Yuvraj’s incredible effort, acknowledging the sheer brilliance of the moment. Her reaction was captured on the giant screen, further adding to the spectacle of the match.

Another heartwarming reaction came from Irfan’s wife, who was also in attendance and was visibly delighted with the crucial breakthrough. Given the context of the game, where Sri Lanka Masters were steadily building momentum in their run chase, the dismissal of Thirimanne proved to be a turning point in favor of India Masters.

Apart from Yuvraj’s spectacular fielding display, the match itself turned out to be a thrilling encounter, with India Masters securing a narrow four-run victory over Sri Lanka Masters in the opening game of IML 2025. The Tendulkar-led India Masters were put into bat first and delivered a batting masterclass, piling up an imposing total of 222/4 in 20 overs.

Contributions came from multiple senior players, with Binny leading the charge with a quickfire 68, while Yusuf Pathan played a blistering knock of 56 off just 22 balls. Gurkeerat Singh (44) and Yuvraj Singh (31 not out) also played vital cameos to propel India Masters past the 200-run mark. Sri Lankan pacer Suranga Lakmal was the standout bowler for the opposition, picking up two wickets in his spell.

In response, Sri Lanka Masters fought hard and kept the chase alive till the very last over, but India’s experienced bowling attack held their nerve to restrict them to 218/6 in 20 overs. Yuvraj’s catch proved to be a decisive moment, helping India Masters gain the upper hand in a closely fought battle.

IND vs PAK: Here’s why Fakhar Zaman is not playing today’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match

In a highly anticipated encounter at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and elected to bat first against India at the Dubai International Stadium. The decision comes with immense significance, as Pakistan finds themselves in a must-win situation, with a loss likely to eliminate them from semifinal contention. On the other hand, India, riding high on confidence after a dominant six-wicket victory over Bangladesh in their opening match, will look to extend their winning streak and assert supremacy over their arch-rivals.

    Reason behind Fakhar Zaman’s absence

In a significant development, Pakistan have made one change to their playing XI. Experienced opener Fakhar Zaman has been left out of the squad due to injury, with Imam-ul-Haq taking his place at the top of the order. Fakhar has been officially ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury.

The injury occurred during Pakistan’s opening match against New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi. While fielding, Fakhar suffered a blow to his knee, which initially appeared minor. However, as the game progressed, the discomfort became increasingly visible. When he came out to bat in Pakistan’s chase of 320, his usually aggressive approach was missing. The left-hander struggled to move freely between the wickets, scoring a sluggish 24 off 41 balls before eventually getting dismissed.

“Looks like a good surface and doesn’t matter, so we want to bat first. If you play an ICC event, every game is important. The boys are familiar with the conditions and we’ve done well in this ground as well. Yeah, we lost the last game but it’s in the past for us. One change: Imam in for Fakhar,” Rizwan said during the toss.

    India sticks to winning combination

The Indian team management has decided to go unchanged, backing the winning combination that delivered an emphatic performance against Bangladesh. The top order, led by skipper Rohit Sharma and superstar star batter Virat Kohli, will once again be the backbone of India’s chase, should they be required to bat second. With their bowlers, particularly the pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, in excellent form, India will aim to keep Pakistan’s batting lineup in check and take full control of the game from the outset.

Pakistan seeks redemption in a do-or-die battle

For Pakistan, this match is nothing short of a battle for survival. Having suffered a disappointing defeat in their previous game, Rizwan and his men will be desperate to put up a strong fight and keep their tournament hopes alive. The likes of Babar Azam and Salman Agha will need to anchor the innings, while their bowlers, led by Shaheen Afridi, must deliver a spirited performance to contain India’s formidable batting lineup. With the pressure mounting and a fierce rivalry at play, Pakistan will have to bring their A-game to turn their fortunes around.

This encounter carries significant importance for both sides, as their performances so far in Group A have yielded contrasting results.

New Zealand’s dominance and momentum from opening victory

New Zealand have started their Champions Trophy campaign in impressive fashion, securing a comprehensive victory over hosts Pakistan in their opening match. Their clinical all-round performance, marked by disciplined bowling and an authoritative batting display, showcased their superior adaptability to subcontinental conditions. The Kiwis have already stamped their authority in Group A and will be eager to extend their winning streak against Bangladesh. The key to New Zealand’s dominance lies in their balanced squad, with contributions expected from both experienced players and rising stars. If New Zealand can replicate their opening performance, they will inch closer to securing a semi-final berth.

Bangladesh’s urgency to bounce back after opening defeat

Bangladesh will enter this fixture under considerable pressure, following a disappointing loss in their first match. The Tigers, known for their spirited performances in ICC tournaments, now find themselves in a must-win scenario to stay in contention for the semi-finals. A second consecutive defeat would significantly dent their qualification hopes, making this game a virtual knockout encounter for them. Bangladesh, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, have made key selections as they aim to bounce back after their opening defeat. The top order consists of Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar, both of whom will be tasked with providing a solid start against New Zealand’s disciplined bowling attack. Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, and Mushfiqur Rahim form the backbone of the middle order, with Rahim’s experience behind the stumps also playing a vital role.

In the all-rounder department, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Jaker Ali provide depth, offering both batting stability and crucial overs with the ball. The bowling attack is led by Bangladesh’s pace duo Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman, with Tanzim Hasan Sakib and leg-spinner Rishad Hossain completing the lineup.

Explained: What if India vs Pakistan match ends in a tie during Champions Trophy 2025?

As the much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 approaches, cricket fans are not only excited about the rivalry but also curious about what would happen if the match ends in a tie. This scenario is particularly intriguing given the historical significance of encounters between these two cricketing giants.

India vs Pakistan: Team form and key players

India: Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India have shown remarkable form in 50-overs cricket, winning all four matches this year. Their bowling attack looks formidable with Mohammed Shami, who recently took five wickets against Bangladesh, and Harshit Rana, who has also been performing well. The batting lineup is bolstered by star players like Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, who is currently the top-ranked ODI batter and scored a century in his debut match of the Champions Trophy.

Pakistan: Led by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s recent form has been inconsistent. While they managed a convincing series win against Australia and South Africa prior to the tournament, their loss to New Zealand raised concerns about their ability to perform under pressure. Key players such as Babar Azam, who will be looking to regain his batting form after losing his No.1 ODI ranking, and left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi will need to step up if Pakistan have to challenge India effectively.

What happens if India vs Pakistan game ends in a tie?

If the India vs Pakistan match on Sunday (February 23), ends in a tie, the outcome will be decided by a Super Over. This format is designed to ensure that there is a clear winner in the game that cannot end in a draw.

    Super over rules

One over each: In a Super Over, each team will bat for one additional over (six balls) to score as many runs as possible.

Batting order: Teams can choose any three batters to bat in the Super Over, and they must select one bowler to bowl the over.

Tied super over: If the Super Over also ends in a tie, subsequent Super Overs will be played until one team scores more runs than the other in an over.

Top 3 players to register a hat-trick in WPL history ft. Grace Harris

Hat-tricks in T20 cricket are a rare and electrifying spectacle, capable of shifting the momentum of a match in just three deliveries. In the Women’s Premier League (WPL), these exceptional feats have already left an indelible mark, turning the tide of crucial encounters and showcasing the brilliance of bowlers under pressure.

The rarity and impact of hat-tricks in T20 cricket

Whether it’s a pacer using sheer speed to rattle batters or a spinner deceiving opponents with flight and turn, each hat-trick in WPL history has carried its own unique flair. From last-over heroics that sealed unlikely victories to game-changing spells that dismantled strong batting lineups, WPL hat-tricks have been a testament to skill and composure. Some bowlers have stunned opponents with three unplayable yorkers in a row, while others have outfoxed batters with variations that left them clueless. These moments not only decide matches but also etch bowlers’ names in history, proving that in the fast-paced world of T20 cricket, a single over can be the difference between triumph and defeat.

3 unforgettable hat-tricks in WPL history

    1. Issy Wong’s electrifying hat-trick (2023 Eliminator vs UP Warriorz)

Mumbai Indians’ speedster Issy Wong produced an unforgettable hat-trick in the high-pressure WPL 2023 Eliminator against UP Warriorz, completely dismantling the opposition’s chase. Defending 183, Wong removed the dangerous Kiran Navgire, who had smashed a quickfire 43 off 27 balls. On the very next delivery, she cleaned up Simran Shaikh, who had just walked in, with an unplayable inswinging delivery that crashed into the stumps. With the crowd already on their feet, Wong completed her hat-trick by dismissing Sophie Ecclestone, rattling the stumps yet again with sheer pace and precision.

Her triple strike reduced UP Warriorz from 84/4 to 84/7 in just three balls, effectively sealing Mumbai’s spot in the WPL final with a massive 72-run victory. This moment remains one of the most dominant bowling performances in WPL history, showcasing Wong’s ability to perform under pressure.

    2. Deepti Sharma’s game-changing Hat-Trick (2024 vs Delhi Capitals)

A year later, in the WPL 2024 season, UP Warriorz all-rounder Deepti Sharma delivered a magical spell against Delhi Capitals, leading her team to a thrilling one-run victory. Delhi was cruising at 93/3 in the 14th over, with Meg Lanning well set at 60 off 46 balls. But Deepti turned the game upside down with three wickets in three balls.

She first trapped Meg Lanning lbw, deceiving the DC captain with a beautifully tossed-up delivery that skidded on quicker than expected. On the very next ball, Annabel Sutherland mistimed a drive straight into the hands of cover, handing Deepti her second wicket. The pressure was immense as Deepti ran in for her hat-trick ball, and she executed a stunning delivery to knock over Arundhati Reddy’s off-stump, sending the UPW fielders into a frenzy.

Deepti’s hat-trick completely derailed Delhi’s chase, reducing them from 93/3 to 124/6, before they were eventually bowled out for 137, falling one run short of UPW’s 138. This spell remains one of the most impactful hat-tricks in WPL history, proving Deepti’s big-match temperament and her ability to perform under pressure.

    3. Grace Harris’ sensational hat-trick (2025 vs Delhi Capitals)

The most recent addition to the WPL hat-trick club came in 2025, when UP Warriorz’ explosive all-rounder Grace Harris stunned Delhi Capitals in a dramatic 8th match of the season. Delhi, chasing 178, was still in the contest at 144/7 with six balls remaining. With 34 runs needed off the final over, Harris was handed the ball, and what followed was pure magic.

On the first delivery of the over, Harris dismissed Niki Prasad, who skied an attempted slog straight into the hands of long-on. With tension rising, she bowled a perfect yorker to Arundhati Reddy, trapping her plumb lbw and setting herself up for a chance at a hat-trick. As the stadium held its breath, Harris charged in and delivered a length ball outside off, luring Minnu Mani into a loose drive. The batter edged it straight into the hands of slip, completing a stunning three-wicket burst in three balls.

Harris’ hat-trick wrapped up the Delhi innings at 144, handing UP Warriorz a 33-run victory. This incredible moment not only secured a crucial win for her team but also highlighted Harris’ all-round ability. Her match-winning all-round performance was one for the history books, making her hat-trick one of the most dramatic moments in WPL.

Scheduled for February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, this match promises to reignite the fierce rivalry between the two neighbouring nations, which dates back to their first encounter in 1952.

This matchup comes at a crucial juncture in the tournament. India enters the game with a strong momentum following a comfortable six-wicket victory over Bangladesh in their opening match. In contrast, Pakistan are under pressure after suffering a disappointing 60-run loss to New Zealand, making this a must-win encounter for them if they hope to keep their semi-final hopes alive.

WPL 2025: Chinelle Henry’s blitz, Grace Harris’s hat-trick headline UP Warriors win over Delhi Capitals

UP Warriorz registered a commanding 33-run victory over Delhi Capitals in the 8th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday. Electing to bowl first, Delhi Capitals faced a powerful batting display from the Warriorz, particularly from Chinelle Henry, whose explosive knock turned the game in her team’s favour.

UP Warriorz set a competitive total

Asked to bat first, UP Warriorz posted an impressive total of 177/9 in 20 overs. The innings got off to a slow start, with Kiran Prabhu Navgire (17 off 20), Vrinda Dinesh (4 off 7) and Deepti Sharma (13 off 19) struggling to find momentum. Tahlia McGrath (24 off 23) made decent contributions, but it was Chinelle Henry who stole the show.

Henry played a sensational knock, smashing an unbeaten 62 off just 23 balls, including 8 sixes and 2 fours, propelling the Warriorz to a formidable total. Her explosive stroke play in the death overs proved to be the game-changing moment.

For Delhi Capitals, Jess Jonassen was the standout bowler, claiming 4 wickets for 31 runs. Marizanne Kapp (2/18) and Arundhati Reddy (2/52) provided breakthroughs, but the damage inflicted by Henry proved too much to contain.

Delhi Capitals struggle in the chase

Chasing 178, Delhi Capitals had a shaky start as skipper Meg Lanning (5 off 5) fell early. Shafali Verma (24 off 30) held one end but struggled to accelerate. The innings was revived by Jemimah Rodrigues, who played a brilliant knock of 56 off 35 balls, hitting 8 fours and 1 six.

However, the lack of support from the middle and lower order made the chase difficult. Kapp (9 off 9), Annabel Sutherland (5 off 5), and Jonassen (5 off 4) failed to build partnerships. Niki Prasad (18 off 10) and Shikha Pandey (15 off 13) added some late runs, but it wasn’t enough as Delhi Capitals were bowled out for 144 in 19.3 overs.

UP Warriorz bowlers were exceptional, with Grace Harris (4/15) and Kranti Goud (4/25) leading the charge. Harris wrapped up the Capitals’ innings as she secured her maiden WPL hat-trick in the last over of the match.
