Romano reveals Lagerbielke talks

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Celtic are currently in negotiations with Braga over a deal for Gustaf Lagerbielke.

“SC Braga have sent an official bid worth €2m for Gustaf Lagerbielke to Celtic, negotiations are ongoing. The player’s keen on the move,” Romano tweeted.

Are links with Wessam Abou Ali legit?

Celtic were linked with a move for Palestine striker Wessam Abou Ali via a post on Facebook that went viral.

It was claimed that there were reports in the Egyptian media that the Al-Ahly striker had been subject to an offer from the Parkhead club following his heroics in the Club World Cup. Abou Ali created history as he scored a hat-trick for his side against Porto in a 4-4 draw.

New York Red Bulls have been credibly linked with the striker, yet Red Bulls’ sporting director Jochen Schneider has denied the rumours, stating: “The player is not in our plans at all.”

Is the door open for Celtic to swoop in and have Abou Ali join Aberdeen’s Oday Dabbagh as a Palestine striker in the Scottish Premiership?

It would certainly seem to be – only there are no credible reports in the Egyptian media linking Abou Ali to the Parkhead side.

What’s happening with Nicolas Kuhn?

The good news for Celtic is that reports from Germany that Kuhn has been in “advanced talks” with a return to RB Leipzig appear to be off the mark, according to the Daily Record.

But there’s bad news, too. Sky Sport Italia reports that the former Germany U21 star appears on the transfer shortlist of Cesc Fabregas’ Como side. The Serie A club are seeking to sign two wings this season, with Kuhn on a three-man shortlist that also includes Jesus Rodriguez of Real Betis and AZ’s Jayden Addai.

Como do seem to be more advanced in signing the other two players, though. AZ have reported accepted a bid of €15m for Addai while Jesus is set for a €20m switch.

Kenny bid rejected

Celtic have knocked back a £500,000 bid from Bolton Wanderers for striker Johnny Kenny, the Daily Record reports.

Kenny spent much of last season on loan at Shamrock Rovers, where he notably scored five goals across six Conference League appearances in the first half of the season.

Upon returning to Glasgow, he made nine appearances for Celtic, scoring against Aberdeen in his sole start.
