Chelsea and Arsenal are locked in a transfer battle for Mexican international Hirving Lozano, who once confessed to hiding under team-mates’ beds in English.
The 24-year-old winger, who currently plays for Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time.
Chelsea and Arsenal are both reportedly interested in signing the player, who has been dubbed the ‘Joker’ due to his ability to create chances and score goals.
Lozano has been in impressive form for PSV this season, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in the Eredivisie.
He has also been a regular for the Mexican national team, scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances.
The player’s agent, Mino Raiola, has previously said that Lozano is open to a move to the Premier League.
“Hirving is a player who is open to all possibilities,” Raiola said.
“He is a player who is very ambitious and he wants to play at the highest level.”
Lozano has previously spoken about his time in England, when he was on loan at Manchester City in 2017.
He revealed that he was so homesick that he would hide under his team-mates’ beds in order to feel closer to home.
“I was so homesick that I would hide under my team-mates’ beds,” Lozano said.
“I was so homesick that I would cry. I was so homesick that I would hide under the bed and just cry.”
It remains to be seen if either Chelsea or Arsenal will be able to secure the services of Lozano, but it is clear that the player is open to a move to the Premier League.
The player’s ability to create chances and score goals could be a valuable asset to either side, and it will be interesting to see if either club can secure his signature.
