Chelsea are currently in talks with Newcastle United as they look to sell Axel Disasi for a fee of €35 million this summer.
The France defender has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and Enzo Maresca’s side are determined to offload him on a permanent deal before the end of the 2025 summer transfer window.
However, the 27-year-old failed to establish himself as a regular starter at Villa Park and Unai Emery has opted against making the deal permanent this summer.
As a result, Chelsea are now searching for a new suitor and Newcastle have expressed their interest in completing a deal this summer.
That is according to CaughtOffside, who claim that Newcastle are currently locked in negotiations with Chelsea as they look to win the race for Disasi’s signature amid significant competition from La Liga side Villarreal.
Axel Disasi to leave Chelsea?
Disasi moved to Stamford Bridge for €45m from AS Monaco back in 2023, but Chelsea are willing to sanction a sale if they receive an offer of €35m as they look to desperately trim down Maresca’s first-team squad.
The Blues currently have 47 senior players at their disposal and they are now prioritising player departures after signing seven new stars so far this summer.
Disasi is one of four defenders expected to depart Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal before the end of the 2025 summer transfer window, with Chelsea also eager to offload Renato Veiga, Ben Chilwell and Alfie Gilchrist.
Trevoh Chalobah has been heavily linked with an exit too, despite his form since returning from a loan spell at Crystal Palace, while Aaron Anselmino, Josh Acheampong and Mamadou Sarr could all be loaned out in order to improve their development.
