Chelsea are reportedly ready to sell David Datro Fofana this summer following his return from injury.
The Ivory Coast forward suffered a serious knee injury in December and he was subsequently forced to return from a loan spell at Turkish club Goztepe during the January transfer window.
Clubs in France and Italy are reportedly monitoring Fofana’s situation ahead of a possible summer bid, with talks expected to ramp up over the next week.
Chelsea spent €12 million to sign Fofana from Molde back in January 2023, however his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €10.6m, and the Blues could be forced to accept a loss, despite the fact his contract isn’t due to expire until 2029.
Chelsea’s striker overhaul
In addition to Datro Fofana, Chelsea are also eager to sell fellow forward Christopher Nkunku, while Armando Broja is on the verge of completing a permanent move to newly-promoted Burnley.
Nicolas Jackson could also depart Stamford Bridge this summer, with Maresca eager to trim down his attacking options following the signings of Estevao Willian, Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
The Senegal international scored 13 goals in 37 first-team matches for Chelsea last season, however he received a red card in two of his final five appearances of the campaign and the Blues are open to a sale if they receive an offer worth at least €80m.
Pedro is expected to start the 2025-26 season as Chelsea’s first-choice striker, following his immense form at the Club World Cup, while Delap appears to be ahead of Jackson in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge after his arrival from Ipswich Town.
