Chelsea are set to receive an offer for Enzo Fernandez from Real Madrid that includes money plus a player, according to reports in Spain.
Los Blancos have held an interest in Enzo for several weeks, with reports suggesting that Chelsea are ready to cut their losses on their club-record signing.
In order to tempt the Stamford Bridge side into a sale, Los Blancos are readying a player plus money deal for Enzo Fernadez, Fichajes has been told by “sources close to the club”. The Bernabeu outfit will offer €40m up front and will throw in Arda Guler as a potential sweetener to the agreement.
Real Madrid hope that the combination of money and Guler’s potential are sufficient to sway Chelsea into a sale.
Competition comes from across the city. Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone is said to be a big fan of Enzo Fernandez, although it is stressed that the Premier League side now see their player as untransferable and are, therefore, unlikely to make a sale.
Can Arda Guler tempt Chelsea to sell Enzo Fernandez?
Guler has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €53.1m, which combined with Real Madrid’s €40m cash offer, takes the total value of the Spaniards’ Enzo Fernandez offer to over the €90m mark.
Although the 20-year-old former Fenerbahce youngster has the capacity to have a big future in the game – data analytics firm SciSports believes that he can one day surpass any player Chelsea currently have on their books for talent – it remains to be seen if this is enough to tempt the London side into a sale.
Chelsea are in the market for an attacking midfielder, but keeping Enzo Fernandez is likely to rank higher up their priority list.
