Real Madrid are reportedly plotting a €100 million bid for either Enzo Fernandez or Alexis Mac Allister as they look to sign a new central midfielder this summer.

Xabi Alonso is eager to bolster the first-team squad at the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of his debut season in charge of Los Blancos and he has identified the centre of midfield as a key area that needs improving.

Stuttgart star Angelo Stiller has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants in recent weeks, although Alonso has identified Fernandez and Mac Allister as his “clear favourites,” according to a bombshell report from Fichajes.

However, Chelsea and Liverpool are extremely unlikely to sanction a sale unless a mega offer is submitted.

Fernandez currently boasts an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €75.5m, while Mac Allister is the most valuable Argentine player in world football, with an ETV of €110.5m.

Real Madrid to sign Enzo Fernandez or Alexis Mac Allister?

Fernandez has been linked with a Real Madrid switch for several years and the Spanish giants remain interested in completing a deal after missing out on his signature to Chelsea back in January 2023.

However, his contract at Stamford Bridge isn’t due to expire until 2032 and he is a crucial member of Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad in west London.

Mac Allister, on the other hand, is equally important to Arne Slot at Liverpool. He started 30 Premier League matches last season and he is expected to play a similar role this campaign, despite the signing of Bayer Leverkusen superstar Florian Wirtz for a club-record transfer fee.
