Chelsea are set to complete the signings of Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro this week after agreeing deals to land both players ahead of the new campaign.

Enzo Maresca’s side will pay €65m to bring Gittens back to the Premier League, while they have agreed an initial €64.3m fee with Brighton in order to finalise a deal for Pedro.

Chelsea’s summer spending will exceed €245 million once Gittens and Pedro are both formally unveiled by the club, following the arrivals of Liam Delap, Estevao Willian, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez, while they are yet to offload a long list of unwanted stars.

Despite this, Chelsea are still expected to be active in the summer transfer market, according to Romano.

He posted on Instagram: “Chelsea are not messing around. Four additions to their attacking department are set to be added for the upcoming season, all deals sealed.

“Jamie Gittens from BVB. Estevao Willian from Palmeiras. Joao Pedro from Brighton. Liam Delap from Ipswich. [Plus] Geovany Quenda in 2026 from Sporting. And yes, they’re not done yet on the market.”

Who will Chelsea sign this summer?

It remains to be seen who Chelsea could sign before the summer window slams shut, although the Blues are reportedly looking to bring a new defender to the club amid the uncertain futures of Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi and Trevoh Chalobah.

Ajax star Jorrel Hato is among their targets, however Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in purchasing the Netherlands youngster this summer, and are expected to battle for his signature.

A new goalkeeper could be pursued amid links with Emiliano Martinez, although Maresca appears content with Robert Sanchez as his first-choice shot-stopper.

A move for Hugo Ekitike now looks unlikely due to the imminent arrival of Pedro.
