Christopher Nkunku is reportedly “guaranteed” to leave Chelsea during the 2025 summer transfer window after falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

The France international has failed to work his way into Enzo Maresca’s preferred starting XI this season and he will depart the west London outfit after a fairly underwhelming two-year stint at the club.

The 27-year-old has mostly been used as a substitute since the appointment of Maresca last summer and he will leave Chelsea this summer after failing to secure a transfer away from Stamford Bridge in January.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed on X: “Christopher Nkunku’s exit from Chelsea remains guaranteed ahead of the summer transfer window.

“Contacts are due to start soon with Nkunku attracting interest already since January.”

Nkunku still has four years remaining on his current Chelsea contract, but he will leave the club this summer and the Blues are hoping to sign one of Victor Osimhen, Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko, Hugo Ekitike or Joao Pedro as a replacement for the Frenchman.

Christopher Nkunku to leave Chelsea

The Sun claim that Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and West Ham United are all interested in purchasing Nkunku this summer, while Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have registered their desire to sign him too.

It’s understood that Chelsea would prefer to sell Nkunku abroad, and a move to Atletico Madrid could reportedly be on the cards if Julian Alvarez departs the Wanda Metropolitano after just one year, amid significant interest from Liverpool.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are said to view him as a player capable of bolstering their attack as they look to bring a new striker to the club and Ruben Amorim has identified him as a “superb” option for his summer rebuild at Man Utd.
