When I heard my name announced as the winner of the 2019 Puskas Award, I was in disbelief. I had just beaten out Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison for the prestigious award, which recognizes the most beautiful goal of the year. It was a surreal moment, and I was overwhelmed with emotion.
But what made my win even more remarkable was the fact that I don’t play professional soccer. I’m a construction worker from Brazil, and I’ve been working in the industry for the past 10 years.
My goal was scored in a local tournament in my hometown of Sao Paulo. It was a long-range shot that flew into the top corner of the net. I remember the feeling of elation as the ball hit the back of the net. It was a moment I’ll never forget.
When I heard that I had won the Puskas Award, I was humbled and honored. It was a huge achievement for me, and I was proud to represent my country and my profession.
But despite the recognition, I’m still the same person I was before I won the award. I’m still a construction worker, and I’m still living in the same house I’ve lived in for the past 10 years. I’m not going to let fame change me.
I’m proud of my job and the work I do. I take pride in my work and I’m grateful for the opportunity to provide for my family. I’m also thankful for the recognition I’ve received from the Puskas Award.
