In the inaugural clash of the three-match T20I series, Australia asserted their dominance over the hosts Bangladesh with a commanding performance at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.

Australia restrict Bangladesh for 127

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Bangladesh set a modest target of 127 runs for the visitors. Nigar Sultana‘s resilient knock of 62 runs off 63 balls anchored Bangladesh’s innings, supported by contributions from Murshida Khatun and Fahima Khatun. However, the Bangladeshi batters struggled to accelerate, managing only 126/4 in their allotted 20 overs.

The Australian bowlers also played a crucial role in restricting Bangladesh, with Sophie Molineux and Georgia Wareham picking up vital wickets to stifle the hosts’ momentum
