In a dominant display of power-hitting and disciplined bowling, the Mysore Warriors emerged victorious in the Maharaja T20 Trophy 2024 final, defeating the Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters by a convincing margin of 45 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, September 2.

Mysore Warriors sets a huge total on scoreboard

Batting first after losing the toss, the Mysore Warriors posted an impressive total of 207 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. SU Karthik led the charge with a blistering knock of 71 runs off just 44 balls, smashing 7 fours and 3 sixes. Karun Nair, the captain of the side, also made a valuable contribution of 66 runs off 45 deliveries, finding the boundary 6 times and clearing it 3 times. Manoj Bhandage‘s cameo of 44 runs off 13 balls, including 2 fours and 5 sixes, further propelled the Warriors’ total.

For Bengaluru Blasters, Gneshwar Naveen was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 wickets for 44 runs in his 4 overs.

In response, the Bengaluru Blasters struggled to keep up with the required run rate. LR Chethan top-scored with 51 runs off 32 balls, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to make a significant impact. Kranthi-Kumar‘s unbeaten knock of 39 runs provided some resistance, but the Warriors’ bowlers, particularly Vidhyadhar Patil who claimed 3 wickets for 19 runs, kept the pressure on throughout the innings.
