Kuldeep Yadav’s pivotal performance
In the crucial encounter, Kuldeep emerged as the hero for India with exceptional bowling. During the run chase of 206, Australia were cruising to the target with Maxwell and Head constructing a partnership of 41 runs. Maxwell, who had just started to settle in with a rapid 20 runs off 11 balls, was looking dangerous, while Head was already solid at the other end with a half-century to his name.
India desperately needed a breakthrough, and it was Kuldeep who delivered. In the first delivery of the 14th over, Kuldeep clean-bowled Maxwell, providing India with the relief they sought. Kuldeep bowled a wrong’un that pitched outside leg stump, and Maxwell stepped out and didn’t quite pick it. Maxwell looked to clear his front leg and whip it into the leg side, however the ball dipped and turned past him to left his stumps in a mess.
