The spectacular catch by Alick Athanaze
The standout moment of the match came in the 13th over of the Patriots’ innings when Cornwall tossed the ball up to Ryan. Ryan went for a slog sweep, but mistimed it, resulting in a top edge. Athanaze, positioned at deep mid-wicket, initially misjudged the trajectory as he ran in to take the catch. Realizing the ball was traveling faster than expected, Athanaze adjusted quickly and leapt forward to grab a stunning one-handed catch before tumbling to the ground.
This jaw-dropping effort sent the Patriots further into trouble, and Athanaze’s catch quickly became the highlight of the match. Fans and commentators alike praised his athleticism and calmness under pressure.
