Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly rejected the chance to leave Al-Nassr and feature at the inaugural Club World Cup this summer.

The Portugal legend has been heavily linked with an Al-Nassr exit in recent months, with his current contract due to expire in July, and a move to a club playing in the 2025 Club World Cup has been mooted as an option.

However, Ronaldo has rejected the opportunity to switch clubs this summer, according to Fichajes, and he is instead set to sign a contract extension at Al-Nassr worth a reported €400 million.

Fichajes claim that Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal and Egyptian side Al Ahly are among the teams competing in the Club World Cup who are eager to land Ronaldo this summer, but the 40-year-old remains “deeply committed” to Al-Nassr and is eager to pen fresh terms with the club.

Real Madrid and Chelsea have also been tentatively linked with offering Ronaldo a one-month deal in order to play at the Club World Cup, however he now seems extremely unlikely to leave Al-Nassr.

Cristiano Ronaldo to sign new Al-Nassr contract

Ronaldo is reportedly expected to sign a new two-year contract at Al-Nassr worth a staggering €200m per annum as the Saudi Pro League outfit look to extend his stay in Riyadh.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward has scored 91 goals in 102 appearances for Al-Nassr since his arrival at the start of 2023, although he is yet to win a piece of silverware at the club.

Furthermore, while Ronaldo is set to extend his contract with Al-Nassr, he is yet to formally sign a new deal and speculation over his future is therefore expected to continue until an official announcement is released.
