David Ornstein has revealed that Arsenal are targeting as many as five important signings this summer.

The Gunners are planning a big transfer window as they aim to take that final step and win the Premier League after three successive second placed finishes.

What did Ornstein say?

“Arsenal are focusing on a new number nine, whether it is going to be a Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyokeres,” Ornstein said on The Athletic.

“They also want a top quality wide player. Ideally on the left side, we have seen names like Rodrygo, Anthony Gordon and Nico Williams before.

“They also would like some backup for Bukayo Saka on the right, that’s why they targeted Bryan Mbeumo.

“In midfield they need to renew Thomas Partey or let him go, and if he goes they will need to replace him.

“They would like a centre half, they were in for Dean Huijsen but didn’t manage to get him so watch this space on that position.

“And they need a number two goalkeeper as Neto returns to Bournemouth, so watch this space on that one.”

It is reported that Arsenal are in talks for Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko to be their new number nine.

Meanwhile, in recent hours, the Gunners are believed to be closing in on the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa to be David Raya’s backup.

Ornstein did not mention the expected signing of Martin Zubimendi from Athletic Bilbao, with it widely reported that that deal is virtually done already.
