Dean Huijsen is set to stay in the Premier League this summer, with Chelsea and Liverpool the frontrunners to sign him, according to a report.

The Amsterdam-born Spain international’s future is heating up as the summer window comes ever closer. Huijsen only joined Bournemouth last year, but his impressive performances mean that he is already going to take the next step in the upcoming window.

Osimhen makes official transfer announcement

Huijsen is almost guaranteed to leave the Cherries this summer. He has a €60 million release clause and, according to Ben Jacobs, clubs feel that this is excellent value for money for the teenager.

The journalist reports that formal negotiations with Bournemouth are unlikely to materialise as the 19-year-old’s suitors are willing to pay his release clause straight away and thus bypass the Cherries.

Though the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle, Real Madrid and Bayern are all interested, Chelsea and Liverpool are currently the clear favourites to secure the signature of Huijsen.

Huijsen to Chelsea or Liverpool

Jacobs states that Bournemouth will have no choice but to sell one or two of their prized possessions this summer after only narrowly avoiding a Profit and Sustainability Rules breach for the 2021-2024 cycle.

It is likely that a deal for Huijsen will be pre-agreed before the exceptional June 1-June 10 transfer window opens this summer, with clubs looking to get their business done early this year.

Chelsea are gearing up for the Club World Cup and would like to sign Huijsen before the tournament starts. Liverpool, meanwhile, did not qualify for the competition, but they are well aware of the interest from Chelsea and others and want to act fast as they look for a long-term Virgil van Dijk successor.

Huijsen dreams of a move to Real Madrid, but Jacobs states that they have yet to make a firm decision on whether or not to sign a centre-back this summer. A Premier League suitor could snap up the youngster before Los Blancos have even arrived at a verdict.
