Derby given one-month stay of reprieve to prove new funds or face liquidation and being expelled from EFL

DERBY COUNTY have been given a one-month extension in order to provide the EFL with proof of funding.

The Rams had previously been set a deadline of February 1 or risk facing liquidation and expulsion from the EFL.

But today’s announcement allows them extra time to continue negotiations with interested bidders, while also continuing to fulfil their fixtures.

The further four-week period also allows for claims by Wycombe Wanderers and Middlesbrough to be further explored.
