Eddie Howe admits Alexander Isak's future is 'not in my full control' – but Newcastle boss stresses there has been Liverpool offer for the forward

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has admitted Alexander Isak’s future is ‘not in my full control’ as he confirmed an offer is yet to be received from Liverpool.

Howe stressed that Isak’s situation remained unchanged, with Newcastle seeking to retain the services of the forward.

Isak is currently absent from Newcastle’s tour of the Far East with a thigh injury, with Mail Sport revealing last week that the star has asked to explore a transfer away from the club.

‘He is still our player, he’s contracted to us,’ Howe said at a press conference in South Korea.

‘We, to a degree, control what is next for him. I would love to believe all possibilities are still available to us.

‘My wish is that he stays, but that’s not in my full control.’
